photoshop tutorial-actions

i use photoshop actions on almost all of my photos now. it is incredibly easy and there are many free actions to download from fabulous people (links at the end).

first, start with your original photo. have it cropped and any other blemish fixed, etc.

next, find your loaded actions and pick one out :)

finally, press play! seriously that easy.

i finally finished my valentine's themed heart wreath! It turned out so much better than I thought it would. My hallway is now very festive and pretty :)

i love valentine's day! i can't wait to show you my handmade gift i made for david (but i have to wait to blog about it until david sees first in case he actually reads my blog, hah).

oh boy.

i don't know what's happening....but i just finished a digital scrapbook layout!! i always said that i would probably never start digitally scrapbooking because i always loved the pretty papers and supplies, but now that i'm a pro in photoshop, it kind of hopped into my lap one day. and to be honest, it was a lot of fun :)

i love hands on paper scrapbooking too much to leave it behind now, but i will probably make a few digital pages here and there!

planner restyle

i love getting a new planner/life organizer for the new year, even though I usually change my system mid-year. but i have a feel this year that i will keep this one for a while. it is prefect! it has the weekly view with enough space to write down plans, with the opposite page completely lined paper so i can make my to-do list for the week! exactly what i need. i was pretty excited when i found it :)

but the only problem was that it was plain jane black. which is kind of boring to me. so i gathered some of my favorite stickers from my stash and went to town!! i had fun and love the mismatch and collage style of it now.


i love it! it even has a pocket in the back to hold those loose papers and such. and it is completely recyclable-go green :)

project 365 and a new fancy bag

after reading kaylah's post about how much she enjoyed completing project 365 last year i was inspired to try it myself this year. i really have no excuses no that i have an amazing camera :) so i will need your help keeping me on track! i'm going to be having updates each week of my photos, but here are my first two days photos...

i'm excited to have a continuous project for the year :)

oh and i have a fancy new camera bag! it came this morning and i was jumping for joy! i'm just happy that i don't have to wrap my camera in bubble wrap if i want to take it anywhere now.

i love it!!!

my new camera is AMAZING!! i love it so much! i took almost 200 photos at my nephew's birthday party last night! lovelovelove.

i am so impressed with the auto modes. they take excellent photos without myself having to do any adjustments. this is going to save so much time on photoshop! i highly recommend this camera to anyone who is looking to upgrade.
i also ordered an adorable bag on amazon to keep my new toy save and sound...

please note that this bag is very gender neutral. david made it clear that he did not want me to get a super cute (girlie) camera bag since he is convinced that i won't want to carry it all the time, meaning he has to then. i don't think this will happen (maybe...). nonetheless, this bag is super cute. i can't wait to get it!

its time to look forward

i love setting new goals for the new year! it makes me excited and focused to complete each of my goals. this year i made a nice range of goals-some easier and some more difficult, but i know i can accomplish by next year.

my goals...

-gain more financial stability and start saving for our first house.

-keep to my work out and yoga routine weekly.

-learn how to knit.

-start planning a beautiful handmade wedding.

-visit a place i've never been to before.

-grow megan's creations and join red velvet art as a contributing artist.

2011 is going to be a great year!!

new year deserves a new look

yea, its all fancy at this blog now. i love it! i feel like it fits my personality and interests perfectly. my favorite part is my new banner. i used an old photo of my grandparents in their first apartment together (aww!) and made it pretty using clip art from pugly pixel. My grandparents display the perfect example of how true love survives and grows. i always think of them when struggles come up between david and i, then i know we can work through it together.
