bittersweet.

my weekend visiting family was very bittersweet. i, of course, loved seeing my family (whom i don't have the chance to see that often) but i also had to share in the sorrows of losing a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother with my family (i miss you mamaw and love you so much). i am glad that i was able to be there for support and to pay my respects. i was also able to help go through her belongs and things--which was hard, but let us remember some lovely memories. my grandfather let me keep her sewing box from high school. it is so gorgeous and full of vintage buttons and even her home ec sewing scissors! i love having something of hers that i can connect with and cherish until i can pass it down to my children someday.

this week is going to be jam packed with places to be and family to see!! i can't wait to spend the holidays with all my family :) that being said, i will probably be scarce around here, but promise to be back in blog mode after the holidays pass.

Ugly Sweaters=Festive Christmas Party

That's right, I am going to an ugly sweater party!! It is going to be AWESOME! I can hardly wait :) I promise to take multiple pictures!

You may notice the few changes I have made around the blog--more are coming! I decided it needed a new look, so I'm changing things here and there as I go. I'll let you know when I'm finished and get your opinions :)

Secrets

When it comes to Christmas gifts, I am terrible at keeping secrets. I can't wait to share and see their reactions, which usually results in giving the gift early or telling too much, ha. I just can't help it! I absolutely love giving gifts, especially when its handmade.

For example, I made David a simple tie blanket with Green Bay Packers fleece fabric (his favorite football team) just last night and I already gave it to him!! Granted he already knew I was making it for him...plus it turned out so good that I wanted to use it before Christmas Day! I know, I'm terrible.

Christmas Wish List

I really love purple...can you tell?? Not all of these things are necessarily on my wish list, they just all look pretty together! But I would like a new camera (mine is starting to drive me crazy) and a kitchen aid mixer would be fun (but I don't bake all that much), and of course I wouldn't deny any Kat Von D products! Honestly, I feel pretty good with what I have now and I don't need anything else...

*Side note...my mom is coming next Sunday and I'm suuuppppeerr excited to see her!! I miss my parents so much.

Coming up for megan's creations...
-Christmas decoration pictures (we went crazy decorating!)
-A peek at a new product I'm working on...
-An etsy update (finally!)

Ready for Christmastime...

All I can think about now that Halloween is over is Christmastime! Don't get me wrong-I love Thanksgiving and fall, but Christmas tops them all! And this year, I am definitely feeling the neutrals as far as fashion, like the grays and cremes. It is very pretty together...
